Harvard Employee Tuition Assistance Program

Harvard’s Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) makes it possible for University staff, faculty, part-time employees and retirees to take Extension School courses.

Before enrolling, it is important to review the TAP information available on the Harvard Benefits website. Eligibility depends on your employee classification and hours worked. If you have questions about TAP eligibility, call the Benefits Office at (617) 496-4001.

You are encouraged to register online. If you have not previously registered for Extension or Summer School courses, please register online as a new student. Your name and date of birth must match exactly the information on record with the Benefits Office. After you choose your courses, select “Apply TAP” to complete the TAP benefit form. Your TAP benefit will be automatically credited to your tuition charges during the online payment process. If you are registering for graduate-credit courses, you will also need to complete a separate graduate-credit TAP form. TAP Fees

TAP fees are nonrefundable unless a course is canceled or a waitlist is closed.

Course Changes

If your TAP benefit has been applied to a course that you would now like to change, you must drop the original course before adding the new course to avoid being charged the tuition for the new course.

January Session

January session courses count toward the spring term TAP total.

Late Registration

Late registration fees apply if you register during the late registration period. See the calendar for dates.

Professional Development Programs

Harvard Division of Continuing Education Professional Development programs are not covered by TAP.
