Tyler A. Thomas
Tyler A. Thomas, M.A., is an award-winning digital strategist who builds brand engagement for the “Big Red” brand at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
In his role at the university, Tyler is part of the institution’s senior communications leadership team directing the university’s strategic communication functions including social media, videography, photography, project management and graphic design to deliver an effective digital communication strategy and editorial plan across owned, earned and paid channels.
Tyler is an international presenter, invited speaker and writer on integrated digital content strategy in higher education. Tyler recently completed his second year as Chair of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) North America social media conference and was an invited keynote and EMCEE at the 2019 Social Media Strategies Summit in New York City.
Tyler's work has been internationally recognized with awards from the American Marketing Association, American Advertising Federation, Public Relations Society of America and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
In addition to his role at Nebraska, Tyler is a digital marketing consultant working with businesses and non-profit organizations across the country developing and executing strategic digital communication plans that effectively tell stories online to drive business objectives.
Tyler holds a master’s degree in higher education administration, bachelor’s degree in advertising, and an executive certificate in leadership from the University of Nebraska. He currently teaches undergraduate courses covering digital content strategy and social listening for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln as well as a digital content marketing course for Harvard University.
