Todd Washburn, PhD

Senior Assistant Provost for International Affairs, Harvard University
Todd Washburn is senior assistant provost for international affairs at Harvard University. In this role, he negotiates agreements with partner institutions and governments outside the United States; works with Harvard faculty to develop and manage international projects, and to manage Harvard research centers; and studies long-term trends in higher education that may affect Harvard and its peers. He holds a PhD in political science (American politics) from Johns Hopkins University, where his dissertation focused on public attitudes towards government in the United States during the second half of the twentieth century. He also holds an MA in education (Stanford University) and a BA in history (University of Pennsylvania). Washburn is a foster parent, a long-time youth soccer coach, and the proud parent of two teenage daughters.
