Philip Gambone, MA


Philip Gambone is an award-winning author of fiction and nonfiction. His collection of short stories, The Language We Use Up Here, was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award, as was his novel Beijing. His essays and memoirs have appeared in a number of major anthologies. He published a collection of interviews called Something Inside: Conversations with Gay Fiction Writers. His latest book is Travels in a Gay Nation: Portraits of LGBTQ Americans, published by the University of Wisconsin Press.

Gambone has taught writing at the University of Massachusetts, Boston College, and Harvard College. In 1991, he received the James Conway Excellence in Teaching Writing Award.
