Kara L. Schneiderman, MA

Associate Director for Operations and Collections Management, Davis Museum, Wellesley College
Kara Schneiderman is associate director for operations and collections management at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, where she oversees registration, collections management, and exhibition installation, as well as facility and financial operations. With over 25 years of experience, Schneiderman has been a registration and collections specialist in art, history, and academic museums. From 2014-2019, Schneiderman served as director of collections at Harvard University's Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, where she directed the departments of collections management, archives, registration, and conservation. Schneiderman has also held positions at the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami, the Louisiana State Museum, George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Museum. She holds degrees in anthropology (BA, Barnard College), library science/archives management (MS, Simmons College), and art history (MA, University of Miami). Schneiderman is a graduate of the Getty Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University and serves as an American Alliance of Museums Museum Assessment Program peer reviewer.
