Kara L. Schneiderman, MA

Director of Collections, Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, Harvard University
Kara Schneiderman is director of collections at Harvard's Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, where she oversees the departments of registration, collections management, conservation, and archives. With over 25 years of experience, Schneiderman has been a registration and collections specialist in art, history, and academic museums. Schneiderman has also held positions at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami, the Louisiana State Museum, George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Museum. She holds degrees in anthropology (BA, Barnard College), library science/archives management (MS, Simmons College), and art history (MA, University of Miami). Schneiderman is a graduate of the Getty Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University and serves as an American Alliance of Museums Museum Assessment Program peer reviewer.
