Jesse Benjamin Raber, PhD

Visiting Lecturer on English, University of Illinois at Chicago
Since earning his PhD from the Harvard University English department in 2014, Jesse Raber has taught courses in literature and history at Loyola University of Chicago, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as the Harvard Extension School. He is the author of Progressivism's Aesthetic Education: The Bildungsroman and the Struggle for the American School, 1890-1920 (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018), and the co-creator of the Chicago Writing gallery at the American Writers Museum. He is working on a literary history of Chicago.
