Deputy Curator, Nieman Foundation for Journalism, Harvard University

James Geary is the deputy curator of Harvard's Nieman Foundation for Journalism and the former editor of the European edition of Time magazine. He is the author of four books: I Is an Other: The Secret Life of Metaphor and How It Shapes the Way We See The World, Geary's Guide to the World's Great Aphorists, the New York Times best-selling The World in Phrase: A Brief History of the Aphorism, and The Body Electric: An Anatomy of the New Bionic Senses. His next book, Wit's End: The Science, Psychology and Soul of Wit, is out from Norton in the fall of 2018.
