Lee and Juliet Folger Fund Professor of History, Harvard University
Andrew Gordon is the Lee and Juliet Folger Fund Professor of History at Harvard University. He teaches courses on Japanese history with a primary research interest in labor, class, and the social and political history of modern Japan. He has most recently published The Wages of Affluence, a study of labor and management in postwar Japan, and A Modern History of Japan. He is currently working on the making of the modern consumer in twentieth century Japan, with a particular focus on the sewing machine.
