Alexander Chisholm, MBA

Head of Analytics, QS Intelligence Unit
Alex Chisholm is head of analytics for the QS Intelligence Unit. His focus is on using data to evaluate trends that have an impact on students and higher education institutions worldwide. Chisholm has 15 years of experience helping organizations better understand the market and make evidence-based decisions. Prior to joining QS, Chisholm was a senior data analyst at FindHotel, an online travel startup, where he wrangled big data to drive product development, optimized search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns, and automated a/b testing systems. Chisholm was also senior director of research services at the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) where he oversaw operations, analytics, and dissemination of results from a broad research program. He presents regularly at major conferences around the world and his commentary has appeared in publications such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Financial Times. Chisholm, who lives in Amsterdam with his wife and two young daughters, holds an MA in economics from George Mason University and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. His favorite statistical programming tool is R.
