After you register, use this checklist to help you prepare for the start of classes.
If you are new to Harvard, you will be assigned a Harvard ID (HUID) number within two days of registering. You need your HUID number and Harvard PIN (see below) to access course websites, online course lectures, and Harvard University electronic resources, including a Harvard e-mail account, Harvard library e-resources, and registering your laptop on the Harvard network. View your Harvard ID number on the Student Information and Status page in online services.
To request your Harvard University PIN, see the instructions on ID Numbers and PINs.
Once you know your Harvard ID number, request your Harvard PIN. Begin using your Harvard ID and PIN for the resources listed above—and to log in to online services.
Once you know your Harvard ID number and PIN, you may open and use your Harvard computer and e-mail account. Update your e-mail address in online services to receive Extension e-mail via your Harvard account.
Make sure you have the technology needed for any online video courses or web-conference courses you are taking.
If you are registered or waitlisted for a limited-enrollment course, you must attend or participate online and do all required work through the late registration period to keep your course or waitlist place.
Deadlines for late registration and credit status changes, drops, and withdrawals are listed in the academic calendar.
