Even Curiosity is on Twitter. Needless to say, more and more people (140 million) are turning to the microblogging platform as a way to communicate, including Extension School instructors and other Harvard entities. The following list is a good start for Extension School students looking for the latest community news and events. Check back often for updates!

Government

@CJRobichaud: For a liberal dose of public policy, ethics, pop culture, and more, follow along with instructor Christopher Robichaud. He also wins best course title of the year for Ignorance, Lies, Hogwash, and Humbug: On Truth and Knowledge in Democracies.

@JohnsonFreese: Follow instructor Joan Johnson-Freese for commentary on national security affairs and many things ironic and absurd. This fall she teaches Globalization and US National Security.

@kinggary: It’s a numbers game for social scientist and statistician Gary King. And if you like numbers, join him online in Advanced Quantitative Research Methodology.

@TheWarRoom_Tom: Follow instructor Tom Nichols for moderate-ly amusing tweets on international affairs and politics. He also blogs over at The War Room and teaches The Future of War: Conflict and Order in the Twenty-First Century and Popular Culture and US Foreign Policy During the Cold War.

Environment/Health

@Planetreboot: Follow Megan Epler Wood, instructor for Environmental Management of International Tourism Development, for the latest in green, sustainable tourism initiatives.

@pknewby: Tag along with Dr. P.K. Newby, co-instructor for From Farm to Fork: Why What You Eat Matters for the latest on nutrition science. Bonus tweets: tasty recipes from her blog, Play a Good Knife and Fork.

@dropeik: Follow David Ropeik, instructor for Critical Thinking about Environmental and Public Health Issues, for his latest articles and insights on risk perception. You can also subscribe to his blog, How Risky is it, Really?

Psychology

@DrShelleyCarson: From creativity to abnormality, Dr. Carson tweets on a variety of topics in psychology. You can also find her blogging on Life as Art and teaching Creativity: Geniuses, Madmen, and Harvard Students, Psychological Resilience, and Abnormal Psychology.

Technology/Education

@staciecgreen and @denisesnyder: Co-instructors Stacie Green and Denise Snyder will be tweeting about their course, Introduction to Instructional Design and how to use technology to improve learning.

Andy Engelward, director of the Mathematics for Teaching Graduate Program, has started a new math for teaching blog, inspired by the many interesting conversations he’s had with students about math and the art of teaching and learning.

Computer Science

@tmac721: Instructor and computer whiz Thomas MacWilliam loves all things typography and JavaScript. He’ll also teach you everything you need to know in Understanding Computers and the Internet.

@jen4web and @robwgraham: Co-instructors Jennifer Kramer and Rob Graham know a quality website when they see one. They offer tips and advice on web development and communication via Twitter, as well as a whole lot more in Understanding and Developing Interactive Media and Introduction to Web Content Management Systems Site Development. @techpower: Instructor Dave Power shares the latest on business innovation and growth. Follow his tweets or take his class, Strategic Management of Growth Companies, to learn more. You can also subscribe to his blog, Barriers to Growth.

@rickbrenner: Instructor Rick Brenner tweets about workplace politics, teamwork, and conflict. And in Spreadsheet Models for Managers, you’ll learn valuable project management skills to keep pace with development.

@stuckeycm: Follow instructor Carol Stuckey for the latest in marketing trends. She also teaches Services Marketing and Management Strategies and Digital Marketing: Social Media and Online Strategies.

@AndrewsMargaret and @DaynaJCatropa: Co-instructors for Strategic Management and Strategy and Competition in Higher Education, you’ll find Margaret Andrews and Dayna Catropa buzzing about business and higher education. You can also subscribe to their blog, StratEDgy.

Writing/Communications

@stevendcohen: No um’s, ah’s, or likes here. Instructor Steven Cohen delivers engaging tweets in 140 characters or less. Watch out for chalk-throwing if you say “um” in The Art and Practice of Public Speaking this January.

@HarvardJOUR147: Formerly of The New York Times and Harvard Magazine, instructor Cathy Chute (@CChute) tweets on the latest media business news and challenges. Learn more this spring in Media Management and Marketing: New Business Models in an Evolving Industry.

@GatheringLight: A former speechwriter for the CEOs of Fortune 500s, instructor Robert Brown muses on all things PR and politics. Brown will teach Writing Compelling Content in spring 2013.
