Extension School classes are rarely canceled because of inclement weather.
Students who commute from beyond the Boston/Cambridge area are advised to use their judgment as to whether travel to Cambridge may be difficult or unsafe.
In the rare instance when all classes are canceled, a notice is posted on extension.harvard.edu as early as possible on the day of cancellation.
Students may also refer to the following for Extension School-wide cancellation announcements:
If Cambridge institutes an emergency parking ban during a storm, a notice will appear on the City of Cambridge website.
If an individual class is canceled, an e-mail message is sent to students who are enrolled in the canceled class.
In the rare instance that all classes must be canceled due to inclement weather, we will attempt to reach all students by e-mail, but students should rely on the above resources for more immediate information.
The Harvard MessageMe emergency notification system is ordinarily not used to announce cancellations due to inclement weather. Students therefore should check the resources above to know if all classes have been canceled.
