Graduation

You have the option of graduating three times a year: November, March, or May. The University-wide Commencement ceremony is held once a year, in May. If you are a November or March graduate, you are welcome to participate in the May ceremony.

Graduation confirmation

When you register for the thesis, you need to complete the graduation confirmation form, which is enclosed with your thesis registration form.

To graduate and participate in May Commencement, you must fulfill all degree requirements (no makeup or extension grades pending) and be in good academic standing with no disciplinary or administrative procedures pending. Moreover, you must be in good financial standing with Harvard University with no outstanding tuition bills or fees (a zero balance).

Thesis deadlines for graduation

• For November graduation: thesis submitted by September 15

• For March graduation: thesis submitted by January 15

• For May graduation: thesis submitted by April 1
