Academic Standing and Enrollment

You must maintain a cumulative GPA of B (3.0) to be considered in good academic standing.

If you have received grades of C, D, E, or withdrawal (WD) in two 4-credit Extension School courses or one 8-credit Summer School course, you are considered to be in poor academic standing and you cannot transfer or apply to a degree program or graduate. If you are in poor academic standing for 2 terms, you may be required to withdraw from the program.

Your grade-point average is calculated using all grades in courses that could count toward the program. Any courses in which you receive a grade lower than B are not accepted for credit toward the program but are counted in your overall average.

The first 2 grades of withdrawal (WD) are not included in the grade-point average. The third and subsequent noncompletion grades count as zeroes (the equivalent of a failing grade). An interim grade of extension of time (EXT) is not counted in the calculation.

See Grades for the values used in grade-point-average calculation.

If you do not register for each term at the Extension School, you must reapply to the program upon your return.
