To earn the Diploma in Premedical Studies you must complete 8 courses (32 credits) with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at Harvard Extension School or Summer School. The 32 credits must be earned in the following courses:
- BIOS E-1a Introduction to Molecular and Cellular Biology
- BIOS E-1b Introduction to Organismic and Evolutionary Biology
- CHEM E-1a General Chemistry I
- CHEM E-1b General Chemistry II
- CHEM E-2a Organic Chemistry I
- CHEM E-2b Organic Chemistry II
- PHYS E-1a Principles of Physics I: Mechanics
- PHYS E-1b Principles of Physics II: Electricity and Magnetism, Light, and Atomic Structure
As a diploma candidate, you may not have taken any of these courses previously at another institution.
Note: applicants not eligible for the diploma may still participate in the Health Careers Program and earn its sponsorship.
