With evening classes and reasonable tuition, the Health Careers Program is a convenient and affordable way to complete the introductory science courses required for application to medical, dental, and veterinary school.
Advanced elective courses are also available if you already have a science background but wish to enhance your credentials. Through the program you may apply for sponsorship in your pursuit of graduate admission and, if you qualify, a Diploma in Premedical Studies.
Once accepted to the program, you can qualify for sponsorship in the form of a composite letter of recommendation that includes:
- Personal assessment of your abilities by members of the premedical advising committee at the Extension School
- An assemblage of excerpts from advisee recommendation letters
- A summary of your fitness as a future medical student
Premedical studies diploma
By completing the eight required introductory science courses at Harvard Extension School or Summer School, you can earn a Diploma in Premedical Studies. You may not have previously taken any of these courses at a different institution.
