JAPA E-1 Elementary Japanese I

This course is designed for people with little or no background in Japanese. Our goal is to develop a basic foundation in the four skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Hiragana and katakana are introduced. In addition, basic information on how kanji are used in Japanese is provided. (4 credits)
JAPA E-2 Elementary Japanese II

Limited enrollment.
This course is a continuation of JAPA E-1, with the goal of acquiring higher proficiency in the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Approximately 100 kanji are introduced. Prerequisite: JAPA E-1, or permission of the instructor. (4 credits)
