This course is an introduction to managing the marketing activities of an organization: marketing information systems and research, the marketing organizational system, and the marketing planning and control system. Topics include customer and client analysis, market research, product and service planning, pricing, communications, advertising and sales promotion, distribution management, and the development of strategies. The use of marketing concepts and tools by nonprofit organizations also is discussed. Prerequisites: introductory accounting course, or the equivalent; a grade of B or higher in EXPO E-34 or a satisfactory score on the mandatory test of critical reading and writing skills.
