Master of Liberal Arts Program

Research, scholarship, writing, and intellectual inquiry—these are the cornerstones of graduate study in the liberal arts. Whether you are seeking a career change or advancement, teacher recertification, a stepping stone to doctoral work, or simply a chance to pursue a lifelong passion, the Master of Liberal Arts offers a world of possibilities.

With focused study in 19 fields, the program is a rigorous graduate experience that culminates in a thesis directed by a member of the Harvard faculty. It is also an affordable alternative to a traditional master’s degree, one that can be completed part time in the evening.
