Maria R. Garcia is an associate professor and academic director of the master's in IT management program at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.
Her work experience includes strategic management consulting, research and development of new investment opportunities, financial management, database design and implementation, and e-commerce management. Garcia has worked in several industries, including oil, procurement, engineering, media, publishing, banking, and education.
She has taught courses in accounting, database systems, client/server computing, website development, and information systems. Her research aims to understand learning and technology, with special emphasis on quality in distance education.
She received an EdD in instructional technology and distance education and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, an ALM from Harvard Extension School, and a BS in business from Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela.
