Joanne Baldine's primary philosophical interests are economic justice, individual and human rights, the self, and Chinese philosophy. Previous teaching positions include Suffolk University, Northeastern University, Wesleyan University, and Babson College. She has been teaching at the Extension School since 2009. Prior to teaching philosophy she was assistant director of East Asian Legal Studies at Harvard Law School (1994-1999). She has written articles on philosophy and technology and ideas of the self in Western and Asian philosophy.
