James S. Hoyte

Nonresident Fellow, W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research, Harvard University
James Hoyte is a nonresident fellow at the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard University, and an associate at the Harvard Center for the Environment. From 1994 to 2009, he was a lecturer in environmental policy at Harvard College and the Harvard Kennedy School. Prior to coming to Harvard, Hoyte spent 20 years as a lawyer, public policy consultant, and government official. He served as Massachusetts Secretary of Environmental Affairs from 1983 to 1988.
