Lecturer on Molecular and Cellular Biology, Harvard University
Cheryl Vaughan is the director and research advisor for the Graduate Program in Biotechnology at the Harvard Extension School. She also serves as the assistant director for science instruction at the Division of Continuing Education (DCE) and the departmental writing fellow for the department of molecular and cellular biology (MCB). Her undergraduate work was done at St. Norbert College, where she earned a double major in biology and chemistry, and also dedicated a great deal of time and effort toward a minor in the fine arts. She has taught Harvard college students since the time she began her a graduate work in MCB in 1992. She finished her PhD work in the fall of 1998 and stayed on campus to teach for the 1998-1999 academic year before heading off to do post-doctoral research at the University of Valencia in Spain. She returned to Harvard in 2001 and served as a preceptor in molecular and cellular biology for six years. She began teaching at the Extension School in the spring of 2003 and joined the DCE staff in the fall of 2006.
