The flexibility of distance learning

All you need is Internet access, a well-equipped computer, and time each week to watch the current lecture video and complete scheduled assignments. You interact with classmates and instructors through e-mail and online media.

We offer semester-long courses on many topics, including Shakespeare plays, financial accounting, web development, and ancient civilizations.

Our faculty create rigorous and engaging online courses—in keeping with the University’s strong academic tradition. This is Harvard reaching beyond the Yard. In fact, nearly 30 courses are Harvard College lectures, taught by Harvard faculty.

You can earn undergraduate or graduate credit or take a course for noncredit. Learn how you can apply course credit toward an Extension School degree.
