Book Art Goes Beyond the Binding
Book art courses STAR E-112 and E-113 provide students with a chance to explore the realm of books in an unconventional manner.
Below, instructor Ilavenil Subbiah narrates a slideshow she created of her students’ work.
Book art is a medium of expression like photography, oil, watercolor, digital art, and sculpture. Students learn the techniques of book making and are encouraged to offer alternatives to how a story is told. Skills and discoveries in these courses often translate and linger for students long after they’ve left the classroom.
