Evaluate Your Course

We depend on your feedback. Log in now to evaluate your fall course.

How to Pay

Online payment by credit card is preferred. If the payment information you submit is incomplete or if payments are nonnegotiable, you are not registered in your course(s).

Credit card

Harvard Extension School accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover. If the credit card information you submit is incomplete or if the credit card payment is declined, you are not registered in your course(s). We notify you by phone or e-mail if your credit card is declined, but it is your responsibility to contact the bank that issued your card if your credit card payment is declined. To avoid a delay in the registration process, you should use a credit card without a daily charge limit.

Harvard Extension School is not responsible for fluctuations in international exchange rates or interest charges due to the timing of credit card charges or refunds.

Cash

Harvard Extension School accepts cash payments in person at Student Financial Services during regular business hours. Please do not send cash through the mail.

Checks

Harvard Extension School accepts bank checks and personal checks made payable to Harvard Extension School. Checks must be drawn on a US bank and include proper routing numbers. Any bank collection charges are your responsibility.

If you submit a paper registration form with a check drawn on a bank account other than your own, you must include your name and the month and day of your birth on the check.

If you present a nonnegotiable check, you are assessed a $25 charge per returned check. Checks may be converted and processed using the Automated Clearing House Network, under the rules governed by the National Automated Clearing House Association and the Federal Reserve Bank.

Employer/company billing

Many employers provide tuition assistance for eligible employees. You may arrange to have your tuition billed directly to your employer if your employer establishes an account or has an established account with the Division of Continuing Education (Harvard Extension School and Summer School). Please be aware that we do not establish accounts with employers who have a minimum grade stipulation, or with employers outside of the United States. All student account charges not paid by your employer are your responsibility.

Before registering, you must submit a contract letter to Student Financial Services that:

  • Is on official company letterhead
  • Includes your name and month and day of birth
  • Specifies the education costs that the company will cover (for example, full or partial tuition, health insurance)
  • Includes a company contact, including telephone number and e-mail address

At the beginning of each new term, you are responsible for submitting an employer billing agreement and for reviewing the terms of the sponsorship.

Harvard University Tuition Assistance Plan (TAP)

If you are a Harvard University staff member on the regular payroll, you are eligible for TAP if you have worked at least 17.5 hours a week since July 1 for fall courses and November 1 for spring courses. You pay $40 per course, for a maximum of two courses per term. January session courses count toward the spring term total.

You are encouraged to register online. If you have not previously registered for Extension or Summer School courses, please register online as a new student. After you choose your courses, complete the TAP benefit form. Your TAP benefit will be automatically credited to your tuition charges during the online payment process.

TAP fees are nonrefundable unless a course is canceled. If you have questions about TAP eligibility, call the Benefits Services Group at (617) 496-4001.

Veterans Administration

Veterans may be eligible to receive education benefits. All questions regarding eligibility should be directed to the Veterans Administration at (888) 442-4551. Information is also available on the GI Bill website. For certification of benefits once eligibility has been determined, call Student Financial Services at (617) 495-4293.

Financial aid

There are financial aid options for students admitted to degree and health careers programs (see Admitted Candidates), as well as for students who are taking courses but are not in a program (see Nonadmitted Students).
