Harvard Instructors
Eight of the 10 degree courses must be taken with Harvard instructors. You can use the degree course search to find courses marked with the attribute HI that will fulfill this requirement.
In some fields, a majority of courses in 1 or more years may be offered by non-Harvard instructors. Students concentrating in such fields should choose electives that are taught by Harvard instructors to ensure that the requirement of 8 is met.
Courses offered by instructors with Harvard affiliations do not necessarily meet the Harvard-instructor requirement. The ALM program defines a Harvard instructor as a teaching member of the following:
- Faculty of Arts and Sciences
- Harvard Divinity School
- Harvard Graduate School of Design
- Harvard Graduate School of Education
- Harvard Law School
- Harvard Medical School
- Harvard School of Public Health
- Harvard Kennedy School
Students should note that this definition differs from the 1 used by the professional master’s degree programs.
