You can get free career counseling, whether you’ve taken 1 course or 12.

Linda Spencer, assistant director of the Office of Career Services, offers individual drop-in counseling appointments for all students. She can answer quick questions about career options, résumés, cover letters, job search strategies, and interviewing skills.

If you graduate from the Extension School, you can join 2 Harvard alumni organizations.

After graduation, not only are you eligible to join the Harvard Extension Alumni Association, you can also join the Harvard Alumni Association, the official alumni association of Harvard University.

The Extension School offers over 60 free academic, graduate school, and career workshops.

Workshops meet for just under 2 hours in the afternoons and evenings at 51 Brattle Street, and cover a range of topics from time management to how to apply to law school.

Extension School graduates participate in Harvard Commencement.

Every June, Extension School bachelor’s and master’s degree recipients gather in Harvard Yard with graduates from other Harvard schools to participate in 1 of Harvard’s most celebrated traditions.

Extension students can take Harvard College courses online.

A variety of Harvard College lectures are recorded during regular class periods and made available as Extension School distance education courses. Each week, enrolled students view lectures on their own time. This is a great opportunity for Extension School students to experience another aspect of Harvard.

Our faculty bring scholarly and professional expertise to the classroom.

Faculty members hold research appointments and professorships, teach at Harvard College and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and hold leadership positions throughout the University. They come to the Extension School for the opportunity to teach experimental courses and interact with a motivated, diverse, and determined student body.

A degree from the Extension School can take you far. Academically rigorous and intellectually stimulating, the undergraduate and graduate programs are excellent training for advanced degrees in selective, challenging programs. Many distance education courses are offered both online and on campus.

When you have a busy schedule, this is the kind of flexibility you need. Most online lectures are videos of lectures being held on Harvard’s campus. So you can attend class online or on campus, whatever is most convenient for you.

Extension School tuition is among the lowest in the Boston area.

Making Harvard’s academic resources available to the wider community is integral to the Extension School’s mission. Thus, tuition at the Extension School is charged per course, and course prices range from $900 to $1,975 for undergraduate- and graduate-level courses.
