Learn Your Harvard ID Number

A Harvard University ID number (HUID) uniquely identifies you within Harvard University. Note that the HUID is not the same as your DCE ID number, which you may use only for Harvard Extension and Summer School online services.

Your HUID appears on your Extension School paper registration confirmation. You also may see your HUID via online services. After logging in, select Student Information and Status.

See ID Number and PINs for more information.

Learn Your Harvard University Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Used with your Harvard ID number, your Harvard University PIN provides secure access to many Harvard websites, including the page where you can activate your FAS e-mail and computer account, your Harvard portal pages, Harvard library electronic resources, and Harvard Extension and Summer School online services. Note that the Harvard University PIN is different from your six-digit DCE PIN.

Request a Harvard University PIN at www.pin.harvard.edu. Contact Information Services at (617) 495-4024 for assistance.

Create Your FAS E-Mail Account

All registered Extension School students and degree, certificate, and diploma candidates may activate and use FAS e-mail and computer accounts. You must know your Harvard ID and PIN before you can create an e-mail account.

FAS e-mail accounts can be activated from an off-campus location or any campus computer lab via the FAS account activation page. You must agree to the rules regarding computer use presented on the page in order to proceed.
