Graduate School Preparation

In addition to reference library and workshops, CARC offers the following graduate school services.

Graduate School Advising

You can schedule appointments with an academic advisor via e-mail from October 1 to May 1 to review general issues regarding application to graduate school. In addition, you can receive feedback on your graduate school personal statement by e-mailing a copy of your essay (include your contact information). You will receive an e-mail or phone response within two weeks.

Graduate School Events

Throughout the year, the Office of Career Services (OCS) and CARC will host a number of discipline specific graduate school workshops and panel presentations, including Applying to Law School, Graduate Degrees in the Helping Profession, and MBA Admission Forum. If you are not in a degree or certificate program, you will be informed about events via monthly e-mails from CARC. Degree and certificate candidates and alumni should register for the DCE listserv to receive timely announcements about these other graduate school events.

Harvard University Graduate School Information Fair

Every fall, OCS hosts Harvard’s Graduate School Information Fair. At the fair, you hear from admissions representatives from many of the graduate schools at Harvard. Speakers discuss their school’s unique programs, offer degree comparisons, and touch upon some of the principal questions students should consider before applying. This year the fair will be held on October 20.
