CARC FAQs
Note: CARC maintains a reference library in Grossman Library that contains books and information sheets about various career and academic subjects. You are encouraged to explore these resources as one way to help answer your questions.
Where is CARC?
CARC is a virtual center run by the undergraduate degree program. CARC has its own reading room in the Grossman Library. The Grossman Library staff cannot answer career or academic counseling questions, but they can help you locate applicable reference materials. In addition to the reading room, the Undergraduate Office coordinates all of the workshop and counseling services offered through CARC. If you have questions about these services, drop by the Undergraduate Office at 51 Brattle Street, e-mail us at carc@dcemail.harvard.edu, or call (617) 496-8750.
Can I speak to a career or academic counselor?
Yes, but only at the following times:
- Monday afternoons CARC offers academic and study counseling (by appointment)
- Friday mornings there are drop-in career counseling appointments available
- You can also schedule an advising session to discuss graduate school preparation
I am an employer. Can I post my internship or job through CARC?
Yes! Harvard Extension School students are a highly diverse and educated working adult population who are actively pursuing evening educational opportunities to upgrade their job and interpersonal skills. We encourage you to contact Jill Abruzese, employer relations manager, via e-mail at jabruzes@fas.harvard.edu to post your job or visit campus to recruit students.
