When to Apply

Students are admitted three times a year, according to the term in which they anticipate completing the courses required for admission:

If you will complete your prerequisite courses Submit your application Expect a decision by
in the fall Dec. 15–Jan. 15 March 1
in the spring April 15–May 15 July 1
in the summer (Harvard Summer School) Aug. 1–Sept. 1 Oct. 1

Apply as early as you are eligible, particularly if you intend to seek financial aid, or you wish to receive timely feedback on the status of your application. If you do not apply in the term that you anticipate completing the prerequisite courses, you run the risk of losing credit for coursework that the program director deems outdated or obsolete (admission criteria and degree requirements are subject to change). There is an additional $125 fee for applicants who have completed more than four courses when applying.
