All of your requirements must be fulfilled to graduate and participate in Commencement, and you must be in good academic and financial standing with Harvard University, with no disciplinary or administrative procedures pending.
Graduation Confirmation
When you near the end of the program, you need to inform the program office of your intent to graduate by submitting the graduation confirmation form (download* form) according to the following schedule:
- for November graduation, by June 15
- for March graduation, by September 15
- for June graduation, by November 15
Thesis Deadlines for Graduation
To graduate and participate in Harvard Commencement, all degree requirements must be fulfilled, including the master’s thesis according to the following deadlines:

for November graduation: final thesis proposal submitted to research advisor by February 1 and final thesis submitted to thesis director by September 1
-
for March graduation: final thesis proposal submitted to research advisor by June 1 and final thesis submitted to thesis director by January 2
- for June graduation: final thesis proposal submitted to research advisor by September 1 and final thesis submitted to thesis director by April 1
