Harvard Instructors
Eight of the 10 degree courses must be taken with Harvard instructors. Courses marked HI in degree course search results fulfill this requirement. Courses offered by instructors with Harvard affiliations do not necessarily meet the Harvard-instructor requirement. In some fields, a majority of courses in one or more years may be offered by non-Harvard instructors. Students concentrating in such fields should choose electives that are taught by Harvard instructors to ensure that the requirement of eight is met.
The ALM Program defines a Harvard instructor as a teaching member of the following:
- Faculty of Arts and Sciences
- Harvard Divinity School
- Harvard Graduate School of Design
- Harvard Graduate School of Education
- Harvard Law School
- Harvard Medical School
- Harvard School of Public Health
- John F. Kennedy School of Government
Students should note that this definition differs from the one used by the professional master’s degree programs and the certificate programs.
