Registered students, whether beginning or veteran writers, can meet with Writing Center tutors who help them look critically at their writing. Students can discuss with tutors such writing topics as thesis, organization, focus, style, and format. The center does not provide proofreading or editing services. Individual sessions last 50 minutes. Students may schedule an appointment through online services beginning September 26. Since tutoring services are in high demand, students should make appointments in advance. No more than five appointments per student may be scheduled each term. Students who withdraw from courses cannot use the Writing Center.
The Writing Center, located in Grossman Library, is open October 3 to January 12 in the fall and February 13 to May 18 in the spring. The center's hours are Monday, 5:30–9:30 pm; Tuesday, 12 noon–2 pm and 3:30–7:30 pm; Wednesday, 12 noon–2 pm and 3:30–7:30 pm; and Thursday, 3:30–7:30 pm.
