- All students register online beginning December 5, 5 am. Since online registration activity may be heavy on this day, students are advised to register only if they are registering for one or more limited-enrollment courses.
Online registration. We recommend online registration to all students, particularly those interested in limited-enrollment courses. Harvard employees using the Tuition Assistance Plan (TAP) and degree, certificate, and health careers candidates awarded Extension School financial aid can register online.
Mail-in or drop-off registration. Students may prefer to download* registration forms. Forms delivered in person may be brought to the first-floor Information Services lobby at 51 Brattle Street or dropped in the 24-hour registration box inside the gate at that address.
Proof of registration. Students are sent confirmations of their initial registration and subsequent course changes. They also may view their course schedules and payment balances online and print them as proof of registration and payment. Students should bring these documents to their classes, as they may be asked to present them with a photo ID for admission to certain classrooms in the Science Center, the Harvard museums, and the Longwood Medical Area. Students are advised to keep online registration confirmations or copies of submitted registration forms.
Tuition. Unlike many schools, the Extension School charges tuition per course, not per credit. Thus, the rates listed in each course description reflect the total tuition for the course. Registration requires full payment of the tuition and a nonrefundable $50 registration fee each term. A $25 late fee is charged to students who register for the first time in a term during the late registration period. Registration is complete only when a student's registration information and full payment have been processed.
Note: The Extension School reserves the right to refuse registration for a student who has been required to withdraw from another Harvard school or course. The Extension School is not responsible for forms lost in transit.
