More advanced grammar than CGRK E-1a, with an emphasis on developing reading skills. Longer selections of Greek literature will be read in addition to grammatical
exercises. Upon completion of this course students should be prepared to make the transition to reading classical Greek literature. Prerequisite: CGRK E-1a or equivalent.

In CGRK E-30a and CGRK E-30b we will read selections from Homer's Odyssey, reviewing thoroughly the morphology, syntax, and prosody of the Greek language. In the
final third of CGRK E-30b, we may read selections from other Greek poetry or prose. Although the main purpose of the courses will be to develop proficiency in reading Greek, we will also discuss the
passages we read as literature. Prerequisite: CGRK E-1b or equivalent.
