Examines the principles and practical problems related to nutrition that are encountered in pregnancy, lactation, child growth, and development. Lectures on general principles help students base their judgments on scientific evidence. Discussions deal with various problems in both developing and industrialized countries. Prerequisite: previous courses in biology, basic nutrition, or chemistry desirable.
